Well, now we got something! The Senate voted for the right to talk about health care reform over the weekend. That doesn’t sound right does it? Haven’t they been talking about this for months now? Anyway, Majority Leader Harry Reid (shown praying for baseball sized hail to smite his GOP adversaries) managed to cobble together the requisite 60 votes needed to continue the debate on the senate floor. Even those moderate degenerates Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu, and Ben Nelson managed to remember they are democrats, and voted for it.
This is still no easy win. The debate on the floor will be vicious, and there is no guarantee that the aforementioned senators will still vote for HCR. And then there is the venomous wild-card: Joe Lieberman. What will he do? Will he vote for reform? Will he join a filibuster? Will he lose control of his bladder in his zeal to rub Barack Obama’s face in shame for not getting anything passed? Stay tuned.
