Hypocrisy Watch

From Politico:

President Barack Obama got a welcome piece of good economic news at the end of a difficult week for the White House, as the Commerce Department reported Friday that the nation’s economy grew by nearly 6 percent at the end of 2009, far faster than analysts expected.

The gross domestic product rose a seasonally adjusted 5.7 percent during the fourth quarter, and it could be a sign that the pace of economic recovery is beginning to pick up.

Good news.  Jobs are still a major concern, but this is most welcome news for the country, and for the administration.  Right?  Not according to Republican Mike Pence:

I believe that the patient will likely continue to recover despite the prescription of the physician…

Interesting take.  Here’s mine.  You can’t have it both ways.  The president should receive the blame for the ills plaguing our country.  He should also receive his due when something positive occurs on his watch.  He’s not immune from credit, nor is he attached to blame.  It is both.  Period.  This is beginning to border on the pathological.
