For someone who fashions himself a civil rights advocate, Glenn Beck sure does manage to associate himself with those who demagogue and disparage the movement on a regular basis. One such individual is Ezra Taft Benson, a member of President Dwight Eisenhower’s cabinet, and a rabid, bigoted opponent of the civil rights movement. Here’s Beck quoting Benson on his show yesterday, regarding Benson’s perceived notions of the infiltration of communists in America. This is an argument Beck has advanced in recent months also. H/T Think Progress:
Beck fails to note Benson’s inflammatory rhetoric regarding the movement he professes he wants to “reclaim.” Beck continues to be a walking, talking contradiction, often contradicting any point he makes in the very segment or article in which he makes it. Comedy at its finest.
