Video footage from the anti-Mosque rally at Ground Zero. This rally is also anti-Muslim, anti-tolerance, and anti-American. Watch the sheeple turn rabidly on a black man who has the unfortunate distinction of “looking Muslim.” Sad.
Here we go again. Conservatives, America’s “real patriots,” have managed to make another mess with their Tea Party protest. Thank you Fox News. After I wrote about the 9/12 protest in September– how certain conservative bloggers wet themselves in reporting inflated attendance numbers (Michelle Malkin)– then used a fake picture to depict the scene, I just knew they had learned a lesson. I guess they haven’t. Apparently Fox News, that bastion of ethical and fair journalism, has gotten its nose dirty, thanks to some tricky doctoring of video by Sean Hannity and his producers. The most recent Tea Party protests, organized by Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was the recipient this time of the “special treatment.” Take a look at the two photos below. The photo on the left was of the most recent protest led by Bachmann. On the right is the 9/12 protest organized by rabid loon Glen Beck. Notice anything odd?
Here is John Stewart reporting this discovery on his show Tuesday night:

|Sean Hannity Uses Glenn Beck’s Protest Footage|
Wow. I suppose this is what you do to stay on top. The “Super Bowl of Freedom” huh? This is one of the most blatant misrepresentations I’ve seen in quite some time. One has to wonder how often they distort the facts, and bend the rules in order to remain the best tabloid entertainment organization. I say that because their credibility as a “real” news organization is seriously compromised here. Real news organizations report the actual story, they’re not part of the story. Sean Hannity, you deserve a big thanks for lifting the veil on your company’s shameful practices. Take a bow. Now grow a pair, and admit that Fox News is all about spreading propaganda. Someone at that network needs to.
UPDATE: Hannity apologizes. Hell has frozen over.
Seriously, what the fuck is this? This ridiculous picture was surreptitiously taken off of the Republican National Committee’s Facebook page. I wonder why? Folks, stop wondering whether or not there is a rabid racist element in the Republican party.
The above photo had been up on Facebook since October 20th. SIX WHOLE DAYS! Why was this not taken down immediately? For those of you who don’t know, here is the definition of miscegenation:
Miscegenation refers to the “marriage or cohabitation between a man and woman of different races.” Loving v. Virginia was a landmark Supreme Court case that, in 1967, struck down all of the US’s laws against interracial marriage.
I’m going to leave the the fact that they caught the President eating fried chicken out of this. It’s an old, worn stereotype that deserves no dignification. After all, don’t white folks eat fried chicken? I guess they eat it with a knife and fork. It’s more sophisticated, and less barbaric.
I am appalled, but not surprised. God bless America.
News Corp Head Rupert Murdoch announced Sunday that they have fired left-leaning political commentator Marc Lamont Hill. Hill, a professor at Temple University, was often used as a foil to conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly on his show the O’Reilly Factor. I always thought Hill’s views brought some measure of balance to an extraordinarily slanted network. Here’s The Hollywood Reporter’s take on the Hill dismissal:
Asked about the White House’s recent suggestion that Fox News is acting like an arm of the Republican Party, Murdoch simply said at a shareholders meeting that the criticism has “tremendously increased their ratings.”
White House officials have recently stepped up pointed criticism of Fox News in blog postings and media appearances.
Murdoch also said that Hill has been fired. He revealed the move after a shareholder had raised the question of how Hill was hired, citing his “reputation of defending cop killers and racists.”
Hill, a frequent guest on “The O’Reilly Factor” and other Fox News shows, has been the target of increasing criticism on the blogosphere for alleged sympathies to controversial figures including Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu-Jamal. Though Hill bills himself as an expert on hip-hop culture, he also drew fire for serving as a liberal foil for various Fox News personalities on subjects far from his stated area of expertise.
Hill also recently defended ousted White House official Van Jones on “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren.”
I guess Fox News doesn’t tolerate these types of combustible personalities, who offer strong, controversial opinions…
Glen Beck, July 28th 2009:
Hypocrisy, thy names are Rupert Murdoch, and Glen Beck.
Here is a follow up to my post about gays in the military, courtesy of Andrew Sullivan and the Daily Dish. This is what a soldier writes:
I am a US Army (82nd Airborne) veteran, I share an office with a Navy veteran (and ironically I am a Red Sox fan and he is a Yankee fan and despite this we get along excellently.) We’ve been following your anger at Obama for not repealing DADT immediately. Let me offer the following thoughts: Clearly you’ve never served in the military. You’ve never lived in a crowded barracks, cramped ship or bivouacked in the field or experienced the day-to-day military. That’s not a dig, just an observation. My perspective comes as an enlisted person as does my officemates and strictly from that of a heterosexual male. Continue reading
Ken Burns’ National Parks: America’s Best Idea… Enchanted is beautiful.
Take a gander at these quotes:
“I did not realize the Nobel Peace Prize had an affirmative action quota for it, but that is the only thing I can think of for this news,” – Erick Erickson, Redstate.
“It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain — President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.” -Michael Steele, RNC Chairman
I thought people were kidding. Then I swing over to the Drudge site and again, I had to read the article to get my head wrapped around it.
These are the tame ones. Get a load of this verbal diarrhea courtesy of Erickson’s crappy Red State blog. I suppose Red State has a affirmative action quota for sycophantic sheep: Continue reading
In a YouTube video (which was surreptitiously removed late Wednesday night), a group of self-proclaimed “Patriots,” threaten the President of the United States and other officials. In the video this unidentified group is heard giving the president until next week to “leave now and give us our country back.” From Rob Waters of Hatewatch:
“If you stay,” the silent video message continues, “ ‘We, The People’ will systematically dismantle you, destroy you and reclaim what is rightfully ours. …
“We are angry and we are ready to take back the rights of the people. We will fight and We will win. …
“Dead line [sic] for your national response: October 15, 2009
“Thank you to all patriots who support our cause. … Be prepared for when the fateful day of the declaration of war is nationally announced.”
Sounds like boastful bluster to me. In this political climate however, you can never be too sure. In a country where people actually bring guns to events featuring the President of the Untied States, anything is possible. I guess the nuts are falling from the trees.
Here’s another question. Who the hell posted this video? Inquiring minds want to know.
In a moment that will go down in history as heartfelt (if not a little odd), Tony Harris, midday anchor for CNN, absolutely loses it when he discovers that Chicago has been eliminated form hosting the 2016 Summer Olympic games. The surprise here isn’t so much Tony’s reaction, it’s the fact that TownHall.com seemingly posted this clip to mock most common-sense Americans, who were actually hoping we would host these games. There seems to be a palpable sense of anti-Americanism going on in some quarters of this country. I wonder why? I’ll have more on this in a future post. Watch the clip after the bump
