I don’t know if Fox has ever reported on anything accurately.  Their journalism reflects their propensity to give their viewers what they crave rather than report the news.  That’s not a news organization, that’s a reality show.

God Bless Fox News for reporting on what is really important. The president finally decided to put the Guinness down, leave Europe, and pay his respects to those lost in the devastating tornadoes in Joplin.

Fox breaks the REAL news.  That news wasn’t the terrific, humbling, unifying speech given by the president.  It wasn’t the moving ceremony conducted by the city of Joplin.  It was the fact that the president may, or may not have been chewing gum during the service.  Watch the very socialist, Kenyan-like behavior below:

Everything else seems to be on the table–Why are rappers coming to the White House?  Where is your birth certificate?  Why are you playing basketball?  Everything of course but jobs and things that affect real people.  This is quite possibly the most bizarre attack yet though, and it says quite a bit about their mindset. This isn’t political dissent. This is strictly comedic fodder, and it makes them look even more parochial and silly than ever.

As Glenn Beck claims the mantle of 21st century shaman of black America, I must pause to give a little background on this farcical new display.  The majority of Beck’s audience probably has no clue whatsoever about the black American struggle inherent in the fabric of American history.  It is nice to know that Mr. Beck can fill them in on the minute details.

Beck’s performance here can be summed up best as specious, arrogant, factual inaccurate, and borne of a propagandist bent.  He doesn’t seek to enlighten anyone.  Instead, he chooses to encourage the wrong type of debate.  For reasons I cannot explain (probably ratings), Beck has become proficient at painting himself as the clown prince of historical moralizing.  I weep for his audience.  Then again, those people get what they deserve.  Watch the inanity below:

Rather than postulate that it has anything to do with Fox’s overt political agenda, or black folks’ support for President Obama –I would venture to guess it’s because Fox’s target audience may be slightly hostile to black thought, and black folks in general.   That may be a blanket statement, but the pattern of race-baiting stories pimped by Fox has increased exponentially the past few years (ACORN, Van Jones, New Black Panther Party, Shirley Sherrod).   By pushing stories that are either patently false– (ACORN, Shirley Sherrod), or devoid of facts (NBPP, Sherrod)– loyal Fox viewers are inundated with negatively hype imagery, and skewed angles of part of the black experience.  That in turn, leads to vitriolic rhetoric like this:

Believe me, I’m not naive enough to not know the difference between an idiot faux-tough guy– ranting incoherently in the comments section of a story–and an actual forward-thinking conservative, who knows better than to indulge in racist propaganda speech.  That quote is indicative of the polemical climate we’re facing in the battle to engage on race.  Folks like rlavallee have ratcheted up the hate, possibly in hopes of forever pushing real, substantive dialogue off the table.

But Fox does themselves a disservice by pushing inflammatory, untruths to the general public. Real journalism has a responsibility to the truth, not to pimping a divisive agenda.
